I have a handful of chainsaws that I'm going to be selling soon and am wondering how do you figure out how much to sell one for? I've looked on craigslist and facebook marketplace and see prices all over the place for common saws. I don't want to ask too much and not be able to sell them but I don't want to ask too little either. Anybody that's had this dilemma care to share your thoughts?

I don't sell many saws but i try to go by condition and appearance as well as function....and compare it to what a comparable new saw costs.

Example...my 272XP is in excellent condition with a new Tsumura bar, all new lines, carb kit, clutch...and it functions perfectly. A comparable new model would run 950dollars. Id price it around 675.00 with 2 new chains. If it looked like hell, no bar, but functioned...$225.00

But..im not motivated and alot hinges on your motivation as a seller and finding a motivated buyer.

Not that I need anymore saws but being relatively close by what do you have for sale?

I have other saws too but the two that I'm trying to put prices on are a Sachs Dolmar 114 with 18" bar and Sachs Dolmar 116si with 20" bar. Both saws look good and both saws run and cut good.

If clean id start at 175 for the 114 and 275 for the 116si. 50 and 60cc class saws should bring as much

I have a Dolkita 520i that I got at auction for $15, put $45 in parts in it. Running 18” 3/8 LP it’s a light stick. Wouldn’t take less than $200. Bought a 028S for $190, pretty clean, runs good. I see them go for as high as $400.
Local CL prices, 575xp-450, husky 350-200, Stihl ms310-375, 026-275/with cracked handle, 2 Jonnie 2050-200,350, echo 490-310,
