This years Toronto area Vermeer Canada Arborist Seminar is going to be held on May 7th.

Hours are 8-4.

Same place: Bronte Creek Provincial Park -1219 Burloak Dr. Oakville Ont.

Fee is $15 (includes lunch) with the proceeds going to "Tree Fund Canada".

If interested RSVP Monica Hainey at 1-800-668-9065 or [email protected]

I'm told that the morning session is: Drop and Break (ropes, friction hitches, cam decenders).

The afternoon session is: Equipment Selection (limitations and product knowledge).

I attended last years seminar and had a good time. I'm going this year.

Anyone else in the Toronto area????

Awesome to hear about this. I was just at the Vermeer store and the never mentioned it. I missed it last year, not missing it this year.
Peace

did anyone see me i was the one wearing a single red rose haha

was a good day, little bit wet

Mycrew and I attended this seminar. Very informative for me and my son because it reflected the equipment and techniques we use almost every day. Just some neat variations that we can adopt. $15/person was cheap for this demonstration, but the $300.00 I spent on equipment was a nessessary evil,lol...Eugene.

The Vermeer seminar was excellent again this year. The weather was not as cooperative though as it started raining around 1:30. Those of us who are not made of sugar stayed till the end at 3:00

Once again, John Ransom from Arboriculture Canada Training and Education Ltd. was our instructor. ( http://www.arborcanada.com/ ) In the morning, John covered friction management, climbing systems and shock loading of different knots, friction hitches and mechanical rope grabs.

The afternoon session covered rigging equipment selection & uses.

All in all a worthwhile day. Thank you Vermeer (Brampton) for putting this on.

I’m looking forward to next year’s seminar
