I’m doing work on a pittosporum tree. Had a vine choking it out for years. It’s been all cleaned up. But is showing a few problems.
Most the bark shows necrosis with three quarters of trunk and most branches cracking with very dead wood underneath. As one would expect lots of the top has died off.
But also lots of the smaller branches are black like they were bunt. Like fire blight. The trunk has blank covered sections. It’s not sooty mold.
Is there other disease that can cause bark to have black areas and cause die off? Or is this all caused by the vines .
