I’m seeking some knowledge, and advice.
I live in Texas, we’ve had two years of incredible hot drought, it’s been terrible.
I lost two trees to a fungus, and all trees looked stressed. In particular, I have a gigantic water oak in the middle of my property.
I’ve noticed several things.
1. Lesions on the bark. Red or rust colored.
2. Breaking branches. Smaller outer branches break and fall.
3. Yellowing of smallish clumps of leaves at the ends of some branches. I’d guess, 5% of canopy.
4. Red drippage appearance where major branch meets trunk.

Tree is in my yard, stands alone, surrounded by grass.
Tree is very near or in my septic spray field.
I’ve lived here 8 years, the tree had been healthy.
Final ask:
I’m trying to identify what type of disease this is, and if anything can be done as a home owner that is within my capabilities.
