what type of dye is used to color mulch

I was wondering what material is used to color mulch black.Also if the material they use is toxic with prolonged contact.Ive noticed that in the spring when we install allot of mulch that my fingernails become soft and and start splitting.This has never happened when using natural aged tree bark mulch.

their are alot of dif prods on the market. as for your problem i would ask the place you got the chips from what they use!!

I saw the dye containers

I looked at the dye containers it was a liquid dye without any warning labels or any other info on the container.The mulch man said it was carbon I still have my doubts

yes it is carbon and reds are iron that is iron oxide rust all natural
