Nice, what wood you use for targets? i have a double blade axe for trowing and still got to make me a target. I have some big oak, elm, london plane, poplar, willow, ash that i can use. so whats best to get the axe in and remove easily and not get it stuck or fall out.

The small ones are willow and the axe one is maple. But I also have cherry, elm, hickory ones ready to go. The willow ones seem to split fast. Just started doing this for fun. Makes for alot of fun on get togethers, instead of just throwing horseshoes. I think any dense wood would work.

Just built axe target out of 22" ash yesterday 6"-8" thick. It lasted 2 1/2 hours of straight hard throwing at 20 feet from a double bit axe. The maple one in pit didnt make it that long before it split. So if you do alot of throwing have backups ready.
