XL with no SN or UT

I have a Homelite Model XL Automatic Oiling saw with 10" bar. The sticker (not a metal plate) near the starter handle says "Model XL chain saw" with a box that says "serial number," but the box is blank -- number wiped off, I assume, when the saw has been cleaned over the years. Also, there is no space for a UT number such as my other Homelites have. I know the XL saws were all similar and I'm not worried about parts. I'm just curious about the age of this saw. Thanks for advice.

My question: Is there a Serial Number anywhere other than on the sticker -- stamped on the block, for example?

(I have no photos, but the saw looks like my several other 10" and 12" XL and Super 2 saws.)

Yes, it's the red plastic case. Looks identical to my late 1970s or early 1980s XL and Super 2 saws. Lacking a UT number, it must be a little older.

Without pics, two possibilities. One, someone used harsh chemicals and cleaned the numbers off as later model saws the numbers were just printed on. Two, the casing was replaced. Replacement casings do not have UT or serial numbers, such as this one.

It is newer, but still could be over a long range of years.
