Zama carb on Homelite Timberman 45cc

So, I got a low hours saw that would not run correctly. At WOT the engine would run, but not rev. No amount of fiddling with the high-speed mix screw helped.

The carb is marked Zama C1Q H44 29A. I obtained a kit for it.

What suggestions do you all have to rebuild this carb correctly and get the saw running correctly?

If possible, ultrasonic cleaning: I would remove the adjusting screws and inlet control lever with needle. After the cleaning rebuild the carb with the original rebuild kit RB-54.

You can also spray carb cleaner through the carburetor adjusting screw holes. Don`t spray directly into the jets seen in the metering chamber. There are checkvalves in it that can be destroyed through the spraying.

Don't install the mixture adjustment needle limiters back on, I see they are still installed. Can't adjust a carb correctly with those on.

I have the same issue. How do you get the limiters off without damaging the adjusting needles?
