I have the dolmar ps-510 and its a great saw.I also have a makita dcs 6401 that i got from home depot rental department for 199.00 dollars.its a beast and in great condition.Might wanna try a HD store to see if they have any to :rock:sell.

so the 7900 oem will be just as strong as the 84cc bb kit,and better quality.Dont want to sound like a broken record i just want whats going to work best and last the longest.

i got one from hd also for 199 and its been a great saw.the chain was new but the bar needs to be replaced. i bought a 24'' b&c for mine and it cuts great with it. 180 is a good price ,buy it.:msp_thumbsup:

since were on the subject of bars and chain tension,how tight should you tighten the bar nuts?im mean realy crank them down or just snug them up.Is there an actual torq number for this.:D

I also have a 20" b&c that I run and any time I stop my saw I always refill the fuel and oil. Just habit I guess.

i weighed my6401 with a 24''B&C on it and full of fuel and bar oil and it wieghed 20.2 pounds.sounds like a lot but who goes and cuts wood with no fuel or bar oil or a B&C on it.might as well weigh it the way its gona be used:givebeer:

I live in Kentucky not the pnw. All I'm saying is that it cut very well, most of our pine trees are small and very soft wood, maby not the best analogy to use, but none the less it was impressive to me.

My 6401 has a 24" b&c on it and I buried it today in burr oak which is a pretty hard wood, it cut it like I was cutting 8" pine. So amazing for this size saw. Everyone talks about the weight, specs from dolmar says if weighs 13.4 pounds. My dolmar 510 weighs 12.1 and it's only 50 cc
