DHT splitter and motor oil problems

im wondering if anybody had similar issues and what the problem could be. I bought a refurbished 27 ton and after about an hour of run time the motor oil is completely empty. I don't see any major leaks anywhere. The oil runs out quicker than the gas. I've only put about 6-8 hours on it. And have to constantly refill the oil

You should be seeing either a very evident leak, or a ton of smoke. Either of which should point towards the problem.

My engine has two oil fill holes, one towards front of splitter and one towards rear. Also oil drain at bottom of engine facing the front of splitter. Are all of these intact?

As suggested check to make sure the fill cap in the front and back are both tight. This particular Kohler engine has a low oil sensor so it will not run if the oil level is too low. And they do not require much oil, only about 20 oz total to be topped off. Please call our customer service line if you continue to have an issue.

Barring mechanical problems, the wrong weight/grade of oil can cause oil consumption that may NOT show signs of smoking.
