ok with tax time comming very soon im lookin at saws :) i very well might go used as i dont "need" one but you know how it is.

so im thinking 372xp, ms 440 im not sure what other contenders there are, thats where you guys come in.

also i have run 372's in the past but ive never run a ms440 or a ms460. how does stihl compare to husky? im not looking for brand loyalty stihl or husky till you die stuff. just looking for a honest comparison between the two saws strengths and weaknesses.

ok let me have it!

i'm partial to the 372xp.

i also don't know what you have for dealer support.

the ms460 is a great saw but i would have to get the upgraded oiler and i don't care for the fuel and oil caps.ms440 is a nice saw but good luck finding a new one.i'm not saying you won't but i haven't seen one in a while.i liked the 044 magnum better but that's just me.

my dealer had a 372 the other day but it was gone today.better hurry.i may sell one of mine but i am afraid i will regret it.i'm just trying to justify having three of them.if you are seriously interested.,PM me.would save you a little money and you wouldn't be donating to the general fund.

There is a new 375XPW in the Tradin' Post at a really attractive price.

Did you get that 066 yet? What bar length?

A quick search will reveal plenty of posts on this topic. The ms440 is, in my humble opinion, the best all around saw ever produced. Only flaw with this saw is the anemic oiler, but that is apparently limited to my personal model. Next in line is the husky 372. Thing looks like it was assembled in somebody’s basement but it just plain rips, even in stock form. Back when they were $570 for the powerhead, they were the only choice. In addition, husky has a way better air filter and anti-vibe. Since the 440 is dead and gone your only choice in Stihl is the 460 or the uggg..441. Compared to the 372, the 460 is heavier, stronger and more money. If you need a Stihl in this powerband, the 460 would be my first choice. If you want to venture on the dark side on the moon, the dolmar 7900, will rock your world. Keep a spare air filter in hand and you will have reached nirvana.

that is a good price on that 375xpw.

$100 less than i paid without tax but i was supporting the local family dealer.

Another vote on 7900, I haven't had problem one with the air filter, but it is a newer one.

Hmmm, you already got a 262, and 346? Instead of a 372, spend another 100 bucks and go for the 390.

If you have a local saw nut or dealer that has a Dolmar 7900, give it a spin. You can't go wrong with the Stihl 440 or 460, check out the 441 also. If I were looking at a husky, the 375 wood be my choice. I have not ran a 7900 or 375 but the guys here love 'em. I have a few hours behind a Jred 2171(like the 372) and it was a nice saw but then traded it for a even nicer 044.:D

I've never seen a 70cc saw thread before...:monkey:

Ohhh, stop it. There was one on here a few months ago.

You've just got to check in more often.:greenchainsaw:

Okay, I have to admit... I did read this thread; so the allure for 70cc saw threads is still there.
