Ok, what is the rpm and chain speed of the 346xp? What is the chain speed and rpm of the 026? I hear the 346 has a 14,500 rpm but the husky sight says their saws are 9,600 and chain speed is 60 fps. I don't know what the 026 is . Does anybody know.

If your debating a stihl 361 get it fast they are going to change it out with the 362 soon. maybe a little more power but more weight and more emissions controls :(

My personal opinion is Husky may cut a little faster but the stihl will last a lot longer then the NEWER huskies, so whats more important to you.........

thank you guys but i think i might buy both i gotta friend that has 2 brand new 455s i can probably get one for 150 bucks so really ill get a 346 and a 455 for the jeep saw and the 346 for the workin saw

If you can get a brand new 455 for $150 that would be a steal. I'd buy it just for a backup saw.

If you're going to cut a lot of firewood I'd look into a model in the 60cc range. If you have plenty of money you might even consider the 346 and another saw in the 70cc range. I love a two saw plan.

I'll put in another vote for the 357XP. I feel a great all around firewood saw is about 60cc. The Stihl 361 is a fantastic saw also....... but I get better dealer support for Husqvarnas around here. Something you may want to think about.

Very simple answer. Stihl 361.

This looks like what he is after....

hmm now im confused i dont know whether to get the 346 or the 357 is the 357 just little bit more powered or is it an all around better saw???

To confuse you further, the 346 is the better saw, but the 357 has more power (but much heavier).......

..and the answer probably is the MS361....

it's true. the 455 is a not as nice saw with more power and the 346 is less powerful saw but much nicer.

Totally misleading again - the NE346xp sure has more power than the 455 - why are you doing this......:jester::jester::jester::censored:

But this is a "which Husqvarna??" thread so go with the 357, because it is a great all around saw, not to big, not to small.

TS:cheers:

455 is a piece of crap. If our gonna make the investment get the best saw you can afford. If its between a higher power homeowner saw and a lower powered pro saw around same value. I would buy the lower powered pro saw. It will last the average home owner a life time if cared for.

Im not much on huskies but I would prolly look at an Xp.
for a stihl 361 is a great saw power to weight ratio is pretty sweet

For you Husky fans I am not bashing husky as a brand just the 455 in general. I have seen several people with new 455's running back to the dealer for repairs related to low quality control from the factory.
:ices_rofl:
You got to be kidding me,right? The 455 Rancher is not a prograde super saw. But for johnny and jill home owner with a few brain cells to read the forking manual and do basic maintenance on their saw. Its a great saw that will last you a long time. No saw company(that means stihl)is prefect(killa me to say that about husky)but a few turkeys to sneak out! Ive got well over 18 cords cut this last year on my 455 and it never mised a beat. Keep the air filter and cooling fins clean. Feed it fresh premix and keep your chain sharp. And it will do all you ask of it as a firewood saw. :angrysoapbox:

For what your gonna spend on a 361 or a 357 kick in a few more bucks and get the 372xp witha 20" bar and you'll have a saw with power to spare if you ever wanna go with a 28" bar for later. 372 is one of huskys best models ever made as well and there only gonna be here a few more months.

nope didnt scare me off just sittin back staying quiet and learning but so far the 357 sounds like the saw to have but ill still buy the 455 just cause its cheap but the 372 kinda caught my attention is it worth the extra bucks?

Yup!
And it only weighs a pound more than the Rancher..

Save your $$$. get the 372.

Stay safe!
