I was in Menard's earlier, and noticed they were selling these. Which surprised me, as they don't sell any other Hitachi tools. Nothing that impressive- "Made In China" was prominently displayed on the clutch cover. About $200 as I recall. Just another Chinese saw in a multi colored wall of them.
As a side note, I really can't figure out Menard's strategy with chainsaws. When they started bringing Efco in, it seemed like they were on the right track. The 152 and 156 (largest they keep in stock) are some of the better saws you can buy off the shelf at a box store. But they do zero promotion of them as a premium saw, and most people have no idea that they are twice the saw of the homeowner Huskys on the shelf at Tractor Supply down the street. Then there are a couple Poulans usually (Wild Thing and a cheap 40cc Poulan Pro), and bunch of Chinese WENs, and of course the crown jewel, the Blue Max. Though they're not always labeled Blue Max- they will be the same saws in the same colors, but with whatever name they happened to stick on that day. I think the ones right now are Super American Cowboy Ultimate Nitro Saw. And now a Chinese Hitachi. Efco has a couple low end Chinese saws that would cover that end just as well as the WENs and Blue Max, and then they have some actual good saws as well. I don't know why they don't just go with that line and be done with it.
