Been burning steady since the first week of October so far to date i have burned 5 cords give or take. As of last weekend im down to my last half cord and still have the rest of feb. and march. Will i make it? Not that its really that big of a deal i have some put up for next year already but it would be noce not to have to brake into that stash.

Wow! I have been burning the same amount of time and have only gone through like 2 1/2 cords. Get a new stove! It will pay for itself in no time. I'm only heating 1200 sq ft though so maybe you have more footage?

Yeah im at about 2400 sq.ft. and running two stoves. One is an insert in the living room addition and the other is an old garrison in the basement for the rest of the house. The insert is pretty good but the Garrison eats a lot of wood.

I have burned 6 cords so far. I have 3 left. Should just barely make it. 4000 sq ft house and 1000 sq ft garage, using two stoves.

6 cords so far. 1 stove heating 2-story farm house. Cutting and splitting a bunch of hemlock I got last fall to get through til I can get more hauled.

burnt 3+ cords so far heating a drafty 1/2 insultated 1600 sq foot shop w/ 13 foot ceilings.

been doing alot of body work on an old truck in there so the temp has to be pretty warm (like 60 degrees minimum) for the filler to cure befire sanding. been working mostly evenings and weekends.

im down to a tailgate load!!!!!!! I got 2+ cords of beautiful white oak rounds that I plan on using next yr. I hate to have to buy a cord of seasoned to finish the yr. out but I may have to do it.

Been there before... That sucks!:msp_cursing::msp_cursing:

Wow! What a difference. 30 years of heating with willow I was using 6 to 7 cord a season. This year so far burning B. Locust 3.1 cord and for the last month and a half I have been burning 50/50 mix of locust and willow. I didn't realize how often I was stuffing gofer wood into that black box until I started feeding it locust. That willow is nice to get things warmed up in the morning though.

Thats why I love to have some Poplar mixed in the pile too. Excellent starter wood and there is nothing like it to quickly heat a house up first thing in the morning. Never had Willow but I'm sure it's the same light, fast burning type stuff.

I've got about 3 cords left, and easily around the 3.5 cord mark burned.

1800 sq ft, using an insert.

During the October, November season I used the junkier stuff, and it seems to be paying off. Just started last year keeping the piles somewhat separate, think I'll do the same moving forward.

we have already burnt 3 cords but that also includes my shop once in a while,,i have 4 years worth stacked which is only 6 months seasoned and will have another years worth that i will be cutting in the next several weeks. but we will ahve enough 2 year seasoned to get us through the rest of this year

That may be true, but you had some willow in that pile 08... That means you have to reduce your planned burn time by 40%!!!:laugh::poke:

We got one of the newer EPA stoves and have gone through about 2.5 cords with it going pretty much non stop. House stays at 70-74 range but it's quite well insulated and only 1600 sq ft.

I'm interested to see how the chimmeny looks in the spring because it's blown a ton less smoke this year. Think that second burn works quite well.

what i have now is 99% oak,,hickory, walnut, cherry,,very little soft wood,,,already burnt most all of it,,,not 40%,,i would say more like 38%:D:D

burned about 5 and 1/2 cord so far this winter..got about a cord left..have two stove and heat a 1800 sf house..but i am using the older fisher stove in the basement( its the bigger of the two and can take a better than a 2 foot stick) mostly and not my newer efficent stove with the secondary burner upstairs...definitly gonna be close this winter with only a cord and a bit left in February
