You got any pictures of the cylinder before porting?
Thats a big bummer. I was looking forward to some cylinder pics.
Are they D-shape chambers or hemi?
You got any pictures of the cylinder before porting?
I was hoping to see what the cylinder looked like too.
I would like to see how they run stock with that cylinder vs mahle and the stihl cylinders that were on the last run of 440s. I would think there isn't a noticeable difference in them unless you take them apart and look at them.
Actually I wander if anyone on AS has compared both P/C in stock form? I would imagine Brad has.
I guess they still are the primitive 2-port design, unless Stihl opted to improve the new ones' My guees is that was the main reason that the MS440 didn't perform with the 372xp, despite more max hp - lack of really good top-end performance! :msp_confused:
Thats interesting. I wander if they did go with something new.
Holy Cow! Thanks for the encouragement. I need to order a big and an expensive part, but it is available. This saw was run over by a moving 3,000 lb log that the logger could not stop, once in motion. The 046 Magnum stopped the log but the back end of the trigger handle was crushed and the sprocket housing lost a piece that flew out.The 046 is the more or less the same saw as the 460, minus flippy caps. There is a few minor differences. The tank vents, carbs, mufflers, combustion chamber size and shape are all different, mostly for the better. I'd take an 046 over a 460 any day.
I wonder if the 461 has a gilardoni, mahle, or stihl cylinder?
I also wonder about that!I wonder if the 461 has a gilardoni, mahle, or stihl cylinder? I would guess the 440 is still a 2 port transfer or Brad would have been posting pictures to show all of usopcorn:
I was just thinking about replacing the 660..................................UNTILL you brought up the !@@##$$%^&*()________!!!!! flippy caps. I have not got over pouring gas mix all over my penis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks STHIL , THAT LEFT A MARK.
That's a USA 3/4 wrap. It's aftermarket and is not available as of right now. As mentioned, there is no alternative oiler. You have to mod the control bolt to get more oil. They list for $929 and I got this one for $829 with a 25" B&C.
Why is it so hard for people to learn how to use flippy caps. It's not rocket science, push down and twist what's hard about that.
