Yep, I did see that. Everything you'd ever need to sharpen just about any kind of saw you'd ever see. My bet is that they will be putting that stuff into the Niemeyer auction next spring.

That would be excellent

Someone could get into a full time business with that stuff. That's cheap, could even work out of a modified van, not even need a shop per se.

I used to know a guy a long time ago, worked about an hour or two a day to make all his money. He was *so good* at fast knife sharpening he had built up a regular clientèle at restaurant kitchens and just did his rounds. He was much better than even master chefs who were dang good at sharpening. He just had the touch. He'd just challenge them, "show me your sharpest knife"..he'd take it and make it better in a minute or so.

Quick bucks and flipping

I got big shoulders so i will own up to it. Its my saw but i had no ideal the piston was in backwards. I bought it at an auction last weekend and really didnt pay that much attention to it. Thought i could make a quick buck on it. I will tear it down and see what the damage is. Thanks to all that pointed it out, I didnt want to sell something thats not right.

Glad you are going to take care of it!

Personally, I got no use for "quick bucks" and "flipping". That sort of business comes with too much negative karma and so on. Look what "house flipping" did to the economy for instance. Ya, a lot of people "made a killing" in a short time, but now, the overall outlook? Was ruining the economy and making millions of homeless and altering the true worth of homes really such a smooth move long term?

There ain't no free lunch..may look like it sometimes, it may work for awhile, but there is always a string attached to that somehow once you get down and look at the little details.

Above is just my general opinion on that sort of thing, not to be construed as a put down to anyone, just one guy's guy's observations over the years. Because wealth has to be produced, just "rearranging it" does not make any new wealth...this is something every one in the US will start to understand within a coupla years now as the economy keeps getting worse and worse.

An hour or two a day would be nice. Kind of cheap start up costs out of the back of a box truck if you think about it.

Wow, holy soap box. If you don't like it, I am surprised that you click on this thread. Probably 90% of the listings are from people flipping saws.

Flipping saws is great. I enjoy meeting the people who buy my saws if they come pick them up in person. Ive sold alot of dirtbikes and chainsaws over the years and only had a couple bad experiences, most everyone is a pleasure to meet and deal with. Whats wrong with making a few extra bucks and enjoying yourself? Maybe i should just lay on the couch and wait on the government to pay me. lol

I like selling saws on AS because I know it will go to someone who will appreciate it. You might not get top dollar for it but I'm willing pass a good deal on down the road.

$270.00 average per saw, for these saws? This is on my watch list just for giggles.

Chainsaws Lot | eBay

He's dreaming! Some of those saws are in nice shape, but COME ON. Theres more than a few box-store type saws that aren't woth JACK (even brand new). The only two saws in that group that interest me are the Poulan XXV and the Poulan/Craftsman 3.7/3700. The Skil that he mentions was NOT made by Poulan (like he said). It's made by Frontier/Quadra. I have a 944 Type-1 that's almost identical to it (except mine's a bit rougher). Anyone who wants that saw can have it for shipping BTW...
