how about we go nude hippie, power to the flower ...at a Anti-logging campaign wielding lithium-ion flippy saws ....that could be good marketing for EPA, we could also have a, how to cut down a reefer plant -demo day :smile2:

They are Ideal for Homeowners that make 4 cuts a year!!

Ya know, that's what you'd think. But think about it for a sec. The reality is that any battery that sits unused for 1/4 of the year or plugged in 24/7 for 1/4 year will render itself pretty useless......right quick. We've all had that emergency MagLite in the truck that **** the bed when you threw a U-joint on the interstate at 0400.

Step out of the stone ages man. Lithium-ion batteries are nothing like old alkaline batteries, which I am sure you have in your maglite, I know I do. My maglite sits behind the seat, used for lighting purposes a couple times a year, I mainly have it for whacking.....um, things. I replace those batteries once a year because, like you say, they lose effectiveness over time and temperature fluctuations certainly don't help. I haven't done any scientific research but my experience with lithion batteries, they hold a charge for a long time with very little energy loss.

needs a built in speaker! we can have sound effects of a real saw :clap: ....maybe solar power too? guess all the methheads will be buying chainsaws for the lithium batterys now :hmm3grin2orange:

I had to google meth and lithium batteries and dang it is used in meth production, learn something everyday

open it up!!

a muff mod would really wake that saw up,and it would sound better too!!:hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange: but seriosly a windmill or solar charger and the reserves to run an 18 inch bar for 3 hours and i'm in!!!!

True true. Li-ion is nothing like Li-Polymer.......which don't hold charge well. Not that I have LiPo's in my MagLite, but Li put my brain immediately into RC car mode......which is one industry anxiously awaiting Li-ion technology. I think the issue still is current draw. Not sure if technology has caught up yet, but Li-ion could never supply the high amps needed for RC brushless motors a few years ago. I would imagine there is a pretty significant C draw with this saw motor, so maybe the tech has indeed caught up.
