I like the sound of the old Homelite XL-12.
Also the Shindaiwa 757 makes a deep sound at idle that gives the impression of power waiting to be released.
Super 250 will give you goosebumps in the cut the sound is so beautiful. 372XPW, and the Poulan 5200/5.2/4Z252 have a bite to back up the bark.
The 262XP I picked up has a howl to it too. Love that saw, even after spending some wrench time with it.
Of course I really like my Mac sounds, but I have to admit, the old Homelite geardrive saws have an earsplitting sound that is unforgettable. BillG at the helm of his 770GS

Among the saws I commonly run, the ported/muff modded 660 has got to be tops. That thing starts roaring and whatever neighborhood I'm in turns out to see whose trees are coming down. And you know, the longer I use my 034S, the more I realize how tought it sounds. It really is throaty. My 038M can't even match the muscular sound of the 034S.
I've cut with and heard a lot of other saws, and do have some loves on that list, but I figured I better just shut up about unfamiliar broads and dance with the ones what brung me.
When I'm done with my J-Red 111-S it will shake the shop indeed but for now my PM55/1-52 and my leeha 125cc block on a original 797 has to win and I'll be running her at my GTG
My favorite is what ever saw I am running. If I am running a saw that means I am in the woods. If I'm in the woods, I'm a happy mother fu....you get the idea. Craftsman or Stihl, doesn't matter cause they all sound like happiness.
Yeah, the big inch Homelites have a sound that carries, I remember hearing them a ridge away and could tell if it was tuned well. McCullochs sound best to my ears.
