keep in mind, im here to learn and would love to get along with everybody on here, but apparently thats not possible with some folks. Seriously, think about this for a minute, i ruffled some feathers by posting a good deal on a saw, in the good deals for saws thread.... and then theres people in the good deals for saws thread saying that i shouldnt post good deals on saws.

You know what, I try not to bash anyone and go with the flow, but you my friend are getting old.

I stay as neutral as possible but I have some good advice for you. Sometimes its in your favor to be the bigger man and just say sorry and move on. I do appreciate all those good deals your putting up though. I hope everyone can work things out soon.

Here's a thought, how about just posting the link, and leave the part out where you call out a 6 1/2 year member of AS that regularly contributes in other threads.

the reason

The reason you don't see any post from me is simple. I only look for saws in my area, if I don't want them then I pm my local as members. If they aren't interested they tell me then I would post them on here. That how I do things. I have enough play money to buy any saw on craigs list, if I felt it was a good deal I would go after it.

You mean you don't rember this post

6.5 HP GAS POWERED PICNIC TABLE

ok, you definitely win this one hands down. Ive seen gas powered bar stools but never anything like that. You've probably found the coolest powered creation on the interned this month!

Also, theres like two guy from arboristsite in the houston area. Me and the guy with a nice booty pic for an avitar. Theres also, absolutely, positively NO good chainsaw deals in Houston EVER.

Basically im the lone ranger of houston Tx chainsaw deals. If i knew anybody else in this area with a particular taste in a particular type or brand of saws, i would give them a heads up too.

With that in mind, if anybody finds any dirt stinking cheap +6 cube saws in the houston area, feel free to let me know and i will give you the customary finders fee of a free lunch as insisted upon my thomas

He's been here 6 years, you've been here 2 months. I am fairly certain he has been more of a contributor to this site than you.

There's guys saying something because you're acting like an a-hole. If you don't care what people think and are here for the saws, post less and read more. You might actually learn something if you would take two seconds and actually understand what people are saying to you. You have demonstrated that you don't know anything about saws, machinery, tools, reading comprehension, listening, humility or common sense multiple times. Quit while you're behind.

I know this is going to come as a shock to you, but most people know about Craigslist. Some people even know about top secret websites, like search tempest, that let you search multiple areas of Craigslist at once. Anybody here can do a search and post every chainsaw ad on Craigslist. It doesn't make you special.

Please don't cry about being bullied again, with the way you interact with people here it is very hypocritical and nothing short of insulting.

If you don't like the way you are being treated why don't you leave? I'm fairly certain the site was just fine before you got here and will be even better when you're gone.

:poop:

the whole point of this thread is to make arboristsite members aware of good deals so they go to chainsaw collectors and enthusiasts and not some random joe.

You're saying that i should wait a prescribed amount of time before posting good deals for everyone on here?

What if I wanted to buy the saw? Should i wait a certain amount of time for local members to buy it before i call the seller too?

Absolutely love that your searching areas that other members live in to tell them about saws they actually search Craigslist for themselves.... not only that, but because of your true caring attitude.... it also clued in all the non-members here, all 130,000 of them. Now granted, I like to do favors for members here just as well, ask anybody I've dealt with, they will attest to it. But by you telling everybody about a saw that you personally didn't call to purchase, you removed the ability for a local guy to search and find the ad himself. Send that member a heads up about saws for sale in his area so that he does actually get a running start on the sale. Call yourself to buy the saw IMMEDIATELY... but as a courtesy, If your not buying the saw, we TRY to practice letting the guy know by PM if a member does live there and then if he doesn't move on it in a reasonable amount of time (a little more than an hour or two), by all means POST AWAY! That ad was up here before work even let out, not everybody has the leisure of cruising CL during working hours.... but most can receive an email (PMs).

I send PMs to members here daily about saws in there area. Tonight, I've been at a meeting all night and when I got home I searched CL for ads and then here for any PMs... guess what? I got a PM from a fellow member asking;

I love this place and all the members who show some consideration for others. I'll do almost anything within reason... except post ads in your area a couple minutes after they pop up... to allow you to scoop the deal, I'll PM you a head start, I'll call your cell phone or send you a text..... just to give you a small amount of time to move on it.

I like to think of it this way; If that saw was in your town and I called and bought the saw, I would expect you to say.. COOL, glad you got it, wished I was a little quicker... but if someone got the saw that wasn't from your town and wasn't a member and then put the saw on FeePay... wouldn't you be just a little ticked? That could have been you... if I PM'd ya, or you found the saw all by yourself :msp_wink:

Giving them a PM is great stuff, giving them just a little time is even better..... then post away if a reasonable time goes by.

Who in there right mind that's not a saw slut looks for Homelite 750's??? WHO?? That's what I thought....... only members here know what that saw really is and it's value.

I'll bet there are tons of saws in your area. Now, I'm going to have a beer and call that ad Budda sent me!

They have sites on the web like that? Bet you don't have an app that sends you text messages within one minute of the CL ad being posted :msp_w00t::msp_w00t:

ok, point taken, i wont post deals in this thread anymore...

Guys on this site that have great collections don't find them on Craigslist. They have made great friends right here that search for them and tell there close friends of great deals, they help them get great saws and all enjoy the ride together because they know what goes around comes around!

Its about friends! Stick around and make some :msp_biggrin::msp_biggrin:

No, that would be an overreaction on your part.

It was pointed out to me early on that posting CL ads that are in 'another member's 'territory'' may actually subvert a memeber that actually has that ad in his sights.

I usually just post from my own area ... and by doing so am saying "I'm passing on these, guys ... so have at it"

NOW TAKE THE FOLLOWING AS CONSTRUCTIVE ....

I saw your posts early on after you joined the AS community, but every community has a doofus or two ...

It was amazing to me how many questions you asked and other posts you made without doing ANY meaningful research. It was equally amazing to me how long it took members to start hacking at your neck that you had thrust out so far.

When I first joined here I read ... a LOT. It did not take me long to realize that there are a great many members here with far deeper experience than mine. I read some more and learned how to search the site effectively .... so I didn't stick my neck out.

All ya have to do is read, read and ...............read more. Then make a MEANINGFUL contribution or twelve accurately reflecting the fact that you have done your due diligence ..... then go back to the first 'read' and start over.

Somehow you have managed to rile up so many people on so many levels it is nearly incomprehensible .... respected members that I have never seen post the sorts of things they have ...

Right now, my advice to you is lay low and continue reading. Please take your mud-slinging, 'if you can piss above this line the fire dept needs you' battles to the OTF and cease littering the Chainsaw forum/community.
