There is a non-sponsor that sells them rebadged as Laser Ultra it says made in Japan with strong brushed steel. No sure about solid bars but these ones have the replaceable tips. A member here bought one but i forgot who it was.

Yeh, the 20 Total I don't really like front heavy, but I prefer shorter anyway. I have 15 Oregon on my slightly modded Redmax GZ4500. I like that and 14 on the PS401 modded. I cut a lot of firewood from some hairy fencerows and longer bar just gets tangled more. Or maybe its just me.....

Not just you. I cut in the Ozark woods here and it can be a tangled up mess. I have little use for a bar over 18".

If you assume my saw is stock (its not) and worth say, $300...Your example would be saying a Sugihara is $900? Bad example in my opinion.... I have a 20 inch Total Super Bar on another 2149 but it is front heavy. I just happened upon the 20 cheap and bought it. (I have several other SuperBars I would sell)
I have used the Oregon ProLite. It does not hold up that well in my cutting conditions. I like stiffer bar. The Total in 16 would be OK...In 18 I would prefer lighter for what I do.
Good bars are far cheaper than saws and make a big difference.
The Jonsered is an excellent saw for my not so clean hardwood conditions..mostly Hackberry, Pecan, some Hickory and Oak. It has outlasted the neighbors faster Dolmar.
Btw. I limb with Dolmar PS401 and Redmax GZ4500.

Not hatin your saw at all. I'm a charter member of the Run What Ya Brung club. See my sig. I should update it soon because I added some newer saws. And they're all in the lighter category.

I ran my 2150 J Red with the stock bar through enough hardwood to go through 2 chains, and that bar is still going on a clapped out (heavy) but very dependable Olympic 945 that I use as my loaner/truck/quad saw. Never noticed any weight problems or unusual where issues. I replaced it when I found a supply NOS Tilton labled Tsunarma bars. They have the squared off tips. I payed $20 for 8 them at an auction. 16'' and 18'' in small mount Husky. I'm just a cheapskate and a bargain hunter. I also like better bars on my saws but don't nit pick about an ounce or 2 at the tip.

Not being a smartazz again, but a Red Max GZ 4500 as a limber and a 2149 as my big saw is kinda in the same league as having a 372 Husky as my faller and a 2165 Johny as my limber. LOL. That Red Max is a saw on my want list. But being a cheapskate has its disadvantages.

The RedMax is lighter is main reason, set to run faster and does not have the torque of the 2149 (both with .325)

To the op, how do you like your 4500? I have a gz4000 that I really like and would like to try a 4500 sometime.
Stock GZ4500 with .325 will not outcut a stock GZ4000 with lowpro 3/8. The GZ4000 would probably win. I am might not so clean hardwood. High chainspeed seems to eat chain sometimes. Torque is better. I might go to 3/8 on the GZ4500 and slow it a bit.
Just my quirks...I had a Jonsered 2055..it would just fry the Total chain that came on it in my wood. I traded it for the 2149, which is much better for me. 2055 is a softwood saw, I think.
.

I heard somewhere that the 4500 responds real well to porting. I've never even seen one so I don't have a clue as to performance. I love my little Ryobi, and Yellow Max (Sears Craftsman pro) I'm not gonna say they are torque monsters. But they are nice little screamin limbing saws. I haven't even done anything to either. Both stock for now. I had set the Ryobi up with a 16 inch bar, but put the 18 on it for the reach. The 16 is on the Sears because it came with that dumb Intenz set up so I had to buy a tensioner from a Red Max. Try the 3/8ths low pro on that 4500 and report back. I run the Baileys 30 LP on all small saws and can't say enough good about it.

I have a few loops of that Total chain that I got from who knows where. Its the 3/8ths and it is pretty soft. It sharpens good but doesn't hold the edge well.

Are you sure you got the part # right? AT2U-8J45HV.......that's for an 18" .058 X .325. That's where I got mine...I may want another!! Not doubting just askin....

they are out of the .325 bars.

hev only have small mount in 18in 3/8 .050.

I am assuming they are on back order.....many, many small mount saws out there...doesn't seem like they would stop making them.......but maybe......OP..give them a call and see what up...then let us know ...as I said I may want another but not pressing..

hev only imports them, and they are slow to. they havent had any good popular sizes in awhile.

i was also looking to get a 16 and 18 in .325, but i might settle for the 18 3/8 they have now.
