If HONDA made a line of chainsaws.......

See, now you've gone and stepped in it. ‘Kronreif, Trunkenpolz, Mattighofen’ -KTM manufactures their own engines, and have since they stopped using Sachs powerplants. Rotax supplies many companies, but not KTM.
so you know for a fact that rotax has no hand in design/manufacture for ktm 2/4 strokes?????????? B.S.

When it comes to winning races on any particular brand / make of dirtbike, it's never been about the machine itself.

It's always about the rider. Fast guys win on whatever they happen to be riding.

Ehhh Explain Spies and Rossi.

Cant we just throw a harvester bar on this........

250R is definitely something Honda did right

that is one clean machine ,1986 ?

....or simply very heavy and very expensive....:yoyo:

Troll,

you of all people should be very glad Honda does not make a chainsaw.

Myself, just glad there is competition keeping the big two honest.

It would be great if Honda/Yamaha/Suzuki etc. would build some 7 cubers!

Honda chainsaw?

Don't know a lot about the 2-stroke industry except my occasional rides over the years. But I'd have to thnk that if Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, KTM, Rotax had the will they could produce something in the 40-50-60cc range that would be as good or better than what's out there now. And all pro designs. What they don't seem to have yet is the desire to take on an established niche in the (to them), rather small chainsaw market. But if they actually had the desire to build something we all know they have the engineering horsepower to do it. I'd guess they've examined every saw on the market too by now. But even for them it would be expensive and that's where they stop to think about it. I think it could be fun but don't know if we'll see it.

Apparently Suzuki is focusing on the ATV and motorbike divisions, which I hope they do and it goes well for them.

Think they kinda strayed away from that over the last couple years.

They're following the money. :msp_thumbup:

Reportedly Rossi took a hit to the wallet to jockey the crossed tuning forks again. I'm sure Spies took an even bigger hit to get the second tier Ducati ride. The Aliens have a stranglehold at the top right now and it will take a considerable effort to move ahead of them.

After my friends 01 yz125 tossed a wrist pin bearing i'm not too impressed. When the needle bearings started moving around in the gas charge, It completed destroyed the entire top end; piston, cylinder and head. And to make things worse, oem parts are insanely expensive.

The line by the transfer port is so deep the cyl has to be sent off to be sleeved.

If hes on a 01, who did the last top end job and did they get the retainer clips in right? If its an 01 and never had a top end,:msp_scared: there's the main problem.

I sure would check out a Honda chainsaw if one was made.

I do have a sweet Honda 4wd 4 wheel steer tractor - 5518,

I bought it used about 4 years ago, and the thing has been absolutely flawless - amazing engineering with great 18hp engine, I use it for plowing, snowblowing, mowing, and hauling around wood. They are no longer sold in the USA, it was made sometime in the 90s..

I used to mow my Dad's with one. It was interesting, I'll give it that. Planetary gears at all four corners IIRC. Zero-turns now, no way I'd go back.

The bike had fairly low hours, It sat parked for many years.
