I have decided to host this at our airbase as we can do it rain or shine there as we have some roof space. (it's a mile from my house) There should be plenty of parking space and I'll start collecting stuff to cut. The shade will also be handy if it's not raining and hot as blazes.

Just let me know what if anything I can do to help out in anyway !! :)

Been thinking about these regional gtgs going on around the country and thinking maybe we should have one for Georgia and east Alabama. I know diddly about gtg stuff as I've never attended one but it seems like that a bunch of people get together with their chainsaws, run some saws they don't own (yet) and eat stuff. Is that a good description or am I missing some components?

I personally don't own anything "cool" but wouldn't mind running someone else's cool stuff. What do all ya'll think?

fearofpavement, you should edit the first post with all the pertinent info so people don't have to read through all the posts to find out when, where and such. woodchipper did that for our GTG. just a thought. good to see it's gonna happen.

Ok, gotta ask one more question, should I bring the gen. or can I plug up there. I may not need it, but I figured it never hurts to ask. Worst you can do is say no.

If there isn't a wrestling tourney then my son and I should be down. We would come down on Friday after work and probably leave late Sat or early Sun.

Did this and I will add pertinent info to that post as additional details make themselves known. I am currently checking into whether airplane and or glider rides would be available for those interested if the weather permits. (there would be a cost associated for those and wouldn't be provided by me.) IF it is plane rides, it would basically just to help out with gas, glider rides would be provided by the airstrip's owner as part of his business. If I get info on that, it'll also get posted on the first post.

I've got this one written on my calendar.

That means we will be there unless something goes off the rails.

If there are any certain saws that someone wants to run I'll haul em down. I don't want to bring 25 saws Like I usually do though.

:( That makes me feel sad. I like playing with everyone else's cool saws.

Great, now we both have frowny faces.

I have a bunch of saws. Most of the time we haul a slew of them, and a lot never get started. Like I said........I'll bring saws. Just sorta want to streamline the amount.

I want to compare saws that will pull a 36" bar and skip chain that I currently have on my Oly 981 that you ported. Just starting to be broken in after bringing down and blocking up a 50+ inch dead oak. Other than that, just love running different saws. I promise i'll run every one you bring if that puts you at ease.

PS-Do we need to help source a variety of wood? It's always great to have multiple sizes and such.
