Can anyone help me out on here? A mate gave me a 034av, he took it to a saw shop and they told him there was something wrong with the crank. Now my mate isn't mechanically minded at all so could be anything. I pulled the saw down this arvo and the cylinder was loose on the case and 1 bolt missing. I removed the cylinder which looks to be in good nick. I can get a little bit of a lean out of the crank by pushing on the flywheel and pulling on the drive sprocket, stuffed bearings? I tried starting the saw before pulling it down and could only get a fire out of it was by pouring a little fuel in the plug hole. I would have thought that if the saw pulled the jug off they would have tightened it back down and put all 4 bolts in

could be just worn out and still have a decent looking cylinder,i rebuilt a 036 last year that had bad crank bearings PTO seal was all but gone due to the movement ,piston was slapping bad but cylinder was ok that saw ran like that for awhile ,the owner had the mix screws all the way rich to offset the massive leak

Yah, sounds like the bearings are gone. There should be no tilt or play in the bearings at all. I had an earlier model 066 that had slightly loose bearings on the sprocket side and they took out the oil pump. That was caused by the arbor company that had it before me tightening the chains too tight (not a problem with the mix or carb settings). My 066 jug and slug were fine and I sold them off along with the rest of the saw parts (case splitting/bearing replacement takes tools that I did/do not have). Check the lower rod bearing as well. It can slide from side to side but have no tilt. Worst case you can sell off the parts on Ebay and make a good return. I got about $300 out of my 066 carcass. I even got $30 for the shot case/low end with a trashed oil pump in it.

ta chap I have been digging found that out,,, shame but understandable as Mag and Hicht island a wee bit exposed the the winds for novice chappy s as no hide away as in whitsundays

may look at houseboat but its not really wot i was thinking
House boat is ok if you want to fish all the little creeks in the channel with the tender

What vehicles did you fit them too?
How much detail was in the wiring manual?
Was the Manual and drawings accurate?

I fitted the factory tow bar to the Colorado and had to take it back to the dealer to have the ECU reprogrammed for towing.

I fitted a iron-man canopy to the Colorado,
the instructions for wiring the brake light was wrong.
The drawings was so bad i could not tell if it was for the correct model.
Contacting iron-man was fruitless. they knew it was wrong.
I was told how to do it via email, wrong again
I was given a third set of how to instructions, wrong again.
I end up pulling the hood lining out to find the correct wiring for the tail light
I had previously fitted this brand to a Mitsubishi Triton and the canopy fitted well and the instructions were clear and accurate.

The Colorado has a 4WD select switch same as the ranger and it does not work
First time dealer said it was a loose connector, I called BS as I had already checked it out.
I invited the service manger out to the car park to have a look and the same fault lights were up on the dash
I had to book it in for a ECU module a week latter.
The switched worked four times and died.
Took it back to be fixed and instead of fixing it they did a 15000 klm service ( odometer reads 3700 klm)
Paid for the service.
Invited the service manger back out to the car park again to look at the fault lights
I have to take it back next week for a new servo motor to be fitted

i had an auto elect fit it. me and wires dont mix. sorry to hear yr woes, gees thats a rough trot!
it was fitted to my nissan patrol.

Rang the saw shop who had it apart and he said the drive side bearing was gone, as these hard to replace yourself with a little bit of know how. It appears as though the saw has been pulled apart before

Finally found the leak in the two case halves I fixed it with expanda foam otherwise known as space invader.

Mate that is an absolute bargain! Never fire it into concrete on an angle as you might ricochet one out in your leg. Those things are awesome. I believe you may also need a licence to run one? You do on a building site from what I remember :)

You guys need a frikken license for a nail gun in Oz now too? OMG...
