It just seems people are making the assumption that its replacing the 461 , did someone post something somewhere that i missed ?
If they could just figure out a way to marry the tank to the engine better with better stop buffers that would take the abuse with out falling apart it be a better saw or go back to what's always workedI think they are looking at 441. what my dealer told me
Shouldn't be a long process. 461.a 461 for the price of a 441 sounds good to me but,,,,, decisions decisions.

And just like your ex, you obviously didn't handle one properly!661 reminds me of my ex, cost to much makes noise and weights a ton
They're homely as sin anyway.462 will not be release in the usa doesnt meet epa reg I hate them ba****d
And is better in the AV dept even though it still has rubber mounts. I have both & the 461 is smootherThe ms 461 is built like the old school 460/046 strong !
You make a good point, but usually I can get around the saw's history with repairs and not have to worry about that. You cannot do that with most brands, but with Stihl saws I can. The only originally new Stihl saw I own is the MS 361. The rest are all pre-owned and I restored them.Or, you could buy a 461 and have a brand new saw AND not have to worry about its history.

The AV is the same, but some say the engine is smoother with the quad ports. Some of it may also be comparing worn or hardened AV mounts to new AV mounts.
