What the hell, I'll mix up some nice, fresh 50:50 AVgas with our local crappy regular (they don't even bother to post octane rating), with Husky oil for some 24:1 to see how well it works. It's only oil...

"Rusted by the rain"
"I stumble through the wreckage, rusted from the rain
There's nothing left to salvage, no-one left to blame
Among the broken mirrors, I don't look the same
I'm rusted from the rain, I'm rusted from the rain

Dissect me 'til my blood runs down into the drain
My bitter heart is pumping oil into my veins
I'm nothing but a tin man, don't feel any pain
I don't feel any pain, I don't feel any pain,
I'm rusted from the rain

Go on... crush me like a flower, rusted from the rain
Come on... strip me of my powers, beat me with your chains
And if... I'm the King of cowards, you're the Queen of pain
I'm rusted from the rain, I'm rusted from the rain"

Nobody cracks off to a 'Faller'. Its an earned respect. Have you ever gone milling lumber and put your head down in respect to the fallen forever burried in a coast slide in passing on your way to your wood every morn and eve ? Or work with guys that had fathers and grandfathers both killed milling wood. or broke in a few guys that got killed milling wood? package a guy for a basket to be heli slung and didnt make it? we are the cream of the crop, We are the 'premodonnas'of the bush and the saw industry "we make love we break love", an 'inner' arrogance that most will never understand. If i could find it in the shed under the cobwebs! LOL. If I only did 30 hrs a year & thought it wasn't manly enough I can always triple the hrs to include idling time
one of these removes most of the guess work

You've yet to show me anything. Remember you started this nonsense once again. Several year old stumps on your own property doesn't count. How about something real. Something that can back your stories. How many bf you cut/mill last year? Thats a start. I have an old 390 I'm selling. Its WELL used. I may have a hard time convincingthe buyer its inly got 400 hours on it because some jackass from across the world told me the saw only counts hours at WOT. Now is that off load WOT? We need an rpm number here so we can really quantify this. Also species of wood being cut. You'll get more or less run time in harder and softer wood. So lets see something. Something real. Something that will validate even a thread of your existance. Something to shut me up. Something to make me realize you're nothing but a lot of talk.

Very well said.

I for one have never seen a used piston that didn't have carbon and a swirl pattern on it. The only person I know that had a clean piston was running something other than pump gas. The way I understand it, a properly tuned 2-stroke will not have a totally clean piston.

Brad, that was a great read and thank you for posting it. Still trying to warp my head around a properly tuned 2 stroke should have some carbon build up on piston crown. I use HR1 for the soul purpose that it's properties prevents carbon build up and no carbon build up within the muffler. I took your's and others suggestion of switching to 32.1 or lower and found that I had to go leaner on the high side, just the opposite as some have suggested going richer and this goes for all my 2cycle's while using HR1

H1R is about the dirtiest oil I have tried.

I wouldnt hold your breath waiting to hear anything of value from that cull.

I think it's a bit like when you hear some one bigging up a business by talking turnover instead of profit, there's on old saying " turnover for vanity, profit for sanity" it's only a matter of opinion & ego whether some one wants to over or under emphasise how much their saw or tractor or piece of machinery has done hours, miles or whatever. Its not like were arguing about the impossibility of a tree defying gravity & falling in the opposite direction! I must be old school because most of the machinery I have operated recorded their engine hours by tachometer revolutions at full revs
ie; 2100 rpm for 60 minutes = 1 hour of operation, quality engine manufacturers have data on the service life of major components like cranks, Pistons & valves which relates directly to revolutions done before they will fail from stress. I base my opinions from experience in a previous life of agricultural, power generation, maritime & transport, I'd like to buy a saw from some one who thinks it's done a lot of work as it would have a lot of life left in it.
Here's some pics of some of my waste pile & downgraded timber from the last couple of weeks. I am, so therefor I must exist, LOL

Is it possible to have a discussion about oil without personal attacks on each other? Seriously??!!!
it certainly brings out some one eyed monsters with bar & penile envy, add lubrication & it all goes hand in hand! or it could just be the full moon coming up!
