Thanks Ron have you ordered from them before? I found 1 on another site and it brought up scam alerts when i searched them so im weary now.

I have ordered parts from M&D before for my 125. . . The good news is that I received my parts. The unfortunate thing was that it took them about 2 months to fill the order.

Just giving you a heads up.

M and D can be difficult if things don't do according to plan..., and that's domestically. I live within driving distance and would only deal with them if they had what I wanted in stock on the shelf. Many items on their web site are special order items requiring payment up front. If I were in N.Z., I would not order from them.

I think the 700 is the other common style. im eyeing up a chop n rivit job with the good bit of mine and a regular cover. they bolt up jyst different shape on the bottom side and a longer shaft.
I'm going to try and get to the chainsaw boneyard today or tomorrow. Try not to cut and paste too much. I'll see what they have.

Been away for a while but coming back to my PM800 engine rebuild. I have the piston ready and got the crank seals out so I can try to find replacements. Folks here provided me some suggestions on seal part numbers last winter that I saved (because I knew I'd never find them in this giant thread again). I've measured and compared to the options and come up with the following info. If anyone could confirm my parts cross-reference I'd appreciate it. Picture shows the two seals removed from my saw.

PTO side:
- measures 0.875" OD x about 0.625" ID
- SKF 6118

Flywheel side:
- measures 1.375" OD x about 0.560" OD
- National 471551

Also, when doing a full tear-down on a saw like the PM800 what other parts should I consider replacing 'just in case'? I'm thinking of:

- Carb to cylinder boot. I find part number 215247 for this.
- fuel line
- fuel filter
- carb kit

Anything in the oiling system? Other gaskets or seals?

Thanks,
Rob

This is from 'The Big List' for the 10 series Macs. Looks like you have it covered, but I question the 6118 instead of 6119 for the 110260. Others may chime in to clarify.

-F/W seal: 61618. Most saws. National 471551.

-PTO seal: 110260. SKF 6119 double lip or SKF 6120 single lip. Poulan 530019097. National 253747. (6118 not listed for this particular application)

'Course there's plenty of NOS sources for about the same price as well.

Looks like you have your list in order otherwise. This guy is a good source for gaskets. Uses high quality materials and is reasonably priced. Fast and free shipping, too.

As for remembering where you may have run across pertinent information in a given thread (or an entire thread for that matter), they have recently added a 'bookmark' feature as an indexing option for that very purpose..., to bookmark stuff you'd never find again in a million years unless you went back through every thread you've ever read that may have mentioned 'McCulloch oil seal cross-ref part numbers'. Now you can just save the post or thread as a bookmark that's located in your profile for future reference or inserting into a post or other thread by simply using the 'Insert Bookmarks' feature while composing a new post. It'll take you to your list where you can select the reference you want to insert and there ya go. Very cool feature that may take a while to catch on, but well worth exploring for those who haven't done so yet.

That was a typo on my part. Should have indeed been 6119.

Appreciate the info on bookmarking. Never heard of that on the forum before.

Thanks,
Rob

May also need a different drum (pulley) for the longer shaft and the associated bushings if the drum is somehow different in that regard. There are several part numbers for drums among the 10 series saws, but my guess is they are basically all the same aside from minor variances like whether or not there's an anchor pin or a channel for the rope, a bolt or a screw for attaching the shaft, etc. There are a couple on the bay right now in the $27 range.

Went to a chainsaw heaven n hell today. I cannot believe the number of chsinsaws of every conceivable brand, age and condition. Went there for an SP60 that i have wanted since getting the SP80 from this fellow. Well it indeed followed me home after pulling the carb, looks decent. Compression tested only 120psi might be a rings issue. Hoping the cylinder is fine. Overall condition is very good and complete. Has a nicer full cover hand grip and a winter kit muffler. Pleased with myself fer shure

Thanks a bunch Beetlejuice hopefully I dont have to go to that extreme but im an engineer and it makes me think of solutions. A chainsaw boneyard? im imagining a huge pile of saws haha what a cool place.

Hi pogo is the two from Germany. I have all the parts from the 800 starter the previous owner lost two of the screws and went start it with out knowing and it ripped it off. Im thinking the bits could be put in the rigid type housing and cut the bottom section off and rivit and plate the two together. It wont be pritty but will get my saw running.

Wow. Indeed.

And do you happen to have a copy of the Big List handy, Tim? The one I referred to is a revision / re-format work in progress. (You may recall I was working on that a few months back.) I'd hafta dig through quite a few variations to determine which one is the original one from you to post for Jethro.

I do have the list but some of the seals may be questionable. It was sent to someone a while ago and they were told not to distribute it until some stuff was vetted but they did anyway. I would advise caution. I've been updating the list as I go along.and have another set to add today. I will send you a copy but would advise anyone who wants to use it to measure before they commit to a purchase. I can't remember who started the list but it was mailed to me by Eccentric quite some time ago to add to it. Several people have added to it over time.
Let me add the Makita (Dolmar) and Solo seals I matched in the last couple of weeks.

Please add the cautionary note before you give it to someone.
