1 happy 025 owner

I bought a used 025 on Ebay and I'm pleased. It is very compact and manueverable. It's plastic but it has been very durable IMO. I have not used a husky 345 or 350.

Is it just me, or has the site been full of meaningless, boring threads lately? The go Echo thing is getting a bit old, as is the Stihl VS Husky thing. Is it just me? I guess what I'm trying to say is, I like threads with substance.

Why do you think I do the go Echo thing?

It isn't just you - I am getting bored also.......

Your bored, ok , let me fire your ole hide up. Here ya go. This sorta explains my perferance of the 441 over the 372. The built like a tank verse the tin can. This saw is on its second tank of fuel and its 3rd tank of oil, beings the 3rd tank of oil has leaked out of the bottom of the oil pump already. Doesn't matter to me really but it shows which saw has the quailty built in and which one doesn't. Power and performance mean nothing when you got this non-sense going on out of a brand new saw, especailly a so called Pro saw.

I'm leaning towards these three as of "today"..I'm sure tomorrow I will want another. :jawdrop: Which is the better saw?

I think everyone [sensible] will agree the 350 is lower quality as it is a consumer saw and is marketed as such. So thats not the best [quality produced] saw.

The specs for the 027 and 353 are similar. Both are in the 50cc range. Both weigh around 5kg. Both will be running .325" chain. Both are recommended to run up to a 20" bar.

IF these are your choices: I believe it comes down to your expectations of how your saw should perform. To separate the two remaining saws I look at the Kw/Hp produced per displacement. The saw that makes more Kw/Hp per displacement (027) will have a higher cutting speed. The saw that makes the least Kw/Hp per displacement (353) will sustain its [slower] cutting speed longer.

So, depending on how much you are going to make the saw work as to which saw would best suit your needs or preference. The 027 may cut fastest up to a certain cut length or in softwood of comparable size. But the 353 may be fastest over this certain size or in comparable hardwood. However, both are in the 50cc range, and are comparable saws. So...whats your preference???

Here is my opinion guys. Who has a better reasoning, or would like to strike me down???

Looks good, wanna trade, I'll boot you a gallon of bar oil,LOL. I got a 30 year old 051 that leaks less oil than my new 372. Is something wrong with this new saw , yes , its got a defect. Do I care, not at all. Its just a messed up oil pump, tant no biggie. I'll fix it or get rid of it, makes no nevermind to me. My point was to fire up my buddy Sawtroll. As for the saw who cares, people are more fun..

Thanks for the links sawinredneck. I'm up to speed now, but this is a forum and I posted my thoughts for people to read. He may not know much about saws, but the more he reads... the more he may start to understand. Just taking the time to reply.

This thread has'nt helped much so far... except to say talk to someone else! Although its a good point Lakeside53 made...

And that is nice of you:clap: I am all for helping people out, but most all of this has been covered and a little searching of the archives would help him narrow down his search a little better.
I think that is where we need to start, let's set a budget, then lets decide what we want to do with this saw. Then we can research a little on each saw, I doubt there are many saws that can be bought new right now that have not been discussed thorougly here Then we can narrow it down and find a good dealer that we like, handle the saws, and BUY one.

I agree...

Lets ask: Chase... as above. Then you will get some real good advice.

The 359 has been offered and this may be more suitable.

Haven't looked into it, and I don't care, as long as it performs .......:hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

At least it has a sturdy mag side on the case, at the clutch side.....

The 335/334/338/339 are all clamshell, but all metal.

Of the saws on yor list, the 353 is the best. But for a few $ more.....a Dolmar 5100S is in a whole different league, and only a few ounces more.
