The 270 is not a bad choice but I would prefer the 260, but even over the 260, I prefer the 353. Stihl has work to do in the 50cc class.

Good point. Stihl does have some work to do in the 50cc size. Like RB, I bought a Dolmar 5100s.
I would have liked a 260 PRO, but it doesn't compare to the 5100.
If the 260 PRO performed a bit better, and were priced close to $400, like the 5100. I would've got one.

I ended up buying a Stihl MS270 and it's definitely much more saw that the MS250.

Good choice, there are a number of people here who own these underrated saws (and a few threads on them, mine included), and are very happy with 'em. The only problem I've had with mine is bending the 4-way switch spring (note to self, use the trigger to go from half choke to run), it was a 3$ part and a bit of a biatch to swap in but its all good now! Enjoy!
