The Super 250 and the 660 gear drive normally had the long black cover with the extra holes.

I think there were some early Super 250 models produced in Canada that had the long yellow top cover. I don't know if they were the juiced 87cc version or still 80 cc.

Mark

had cdn one, all yellow, 80cc
lee h has it now

Anyone know where to get the clutch side crank seal for a PM60?
McCulloch 110260 crosses to several sources including the common CR/SKF 6119 dbl. lip or 6120 single lip. The OEM 110260 can still be found from several sources for similar prices. You might try @heimannm for starters.

All this super 250 talk has got me in the mood to get mine running 20210630_145629.jpg
I have a tidy standard 250 that runs for a few parts. And a 24 with big chain haven't looked what size it is.

How tricky are full wraps to find? Not that I'm gunna fell much with it :)

Hello! I have a Mac 3200 that I restart in my spare time and today I took new crankshaft oil seals. My question is what to seal the joint between the cylinder and the crankcase? High temperature silicone?I think it was something like that, but it had dried up ....

I keep thinking the same thing! Don’t have a 250 but I have a 200 I’m suddenly thinking an awful lot about!

There's been a full wrap for a 250 on ebay for awhile, I think they had 60 bucks on it. Watch it while and they may discount it for ya. That would be alot to put on this saw for what I would get out of it.

Yep, 1-4* and 1-5* wraps will fit on a 250, I'm pretty sure they all used the same back tank half, which is where the wrap mounts.
The tank rear halves have subtle differences (mostly relating to the bar oiling system), but the mounts are all the same as far as I know (I don't have any 1-4x parts, but my 1-51s, 250s, super 250s, 450s and 550s are fully interchangeable in terms of handles)

Interesting fuel filler cap! Not sure that many Super 250s had chromed handles and steel dust screens. What is stamped on the bottom?

Not hard to find full wrap handles. Last one cost me $26 (AUD), it isn't my nicest one but still looks good (below).

They look cool but are a bit annoying if you have the clutch cover off often, especially if someone has but long bolts in to hold the spikes on!

I'll have a look tonight when I get home. I kinda like the cap :)

RandyMac, one of the few on AS that experienced the last of the big wood in Northern California, is a big fan of the Super 250. Too bad he doesn’t post much on AS anymore.

Ron

Yeah I enjoy his stories. I hope he is doing ok

I like the cap too (might want a vent?).
