C's Tree Needs
Pawn shop find (looked "road hard & put up wet") so don't know history (it started/ran seemingly good, $100 out the door), new fuel tank, cleaned up the rest, fabricated inner/upper dawg attachment point, opened up exhaust hole to 3/4", then slapped on 1x previous (15 cut) use w/o issue (044 saw) 24" Laser ultra light (Tsumari light) bar (chain as tight as I've been doing for years, smooth "finger pull" w/o "slop").....fired/warmed up, hooked up "cheap" new tach (idle 2600) then "ran it up" a few times to see where it's at (would hit about 10 1/2-11k, then "stutter" down, I figure "4 stroking" due to exhaust mod), noticed an "unusual smell" (sort of like "burning oil off a new part that heats up"), shut off, chain tension seemed fine but bar was pretty warm, pulled bar and "dirty" oil was "splattered" backwards around clutch drum and inside cover/60% of bar rail top&bottom were "black" (90% sure it wasn't like that from bars 1st use) & didn't seem "oiled" at all....cleaned oil up & tried again, almost identical result except "clean" oil splatter and bar rail seemed to have a little oil on 1st 1/2 (mainly) this time.....pulled the bar & ran to confirm oil flow (which I have no previous "eyeball" experience to compare it to) it does "oil"....tomorrow will grab the 044 to compare oil flow & try it's "inner bar chain plate"......Any shared info would be greatly appreciated, Thanx in advance
