I have never seen bickering like this in 12 or so years on various forums. It takes the fun out of being here. Either way it is just a deal for a few bars. If he cuts into someone else's business isn't that the pointof competition? Larry, brotha, I have to respectfully disagree. It is about serving your customer while at the same time benefitting your business. Scott may be a flake or he may be a great guy. He is trying to help himself while at the same time trying to offer a good deal to people he considers his posse. My words not his of course, never met the guy. I'm also guessing he wishes he never made this offer to us. Oh well, it will be blown over soon.
No, although perhaps it was a mistake. Loads of people learned some very important things about some of the sellers here.
It has gotten to the point that the heavy hitters are threatening approaching GB about my distributorship. Well, If the sin was so horrid that they feel I should not be part of thier little group then so be it.
I am betting that they will take this 60 bar order before they give me the boot.
And I think that I will stick around Arborist site as long as they will have me. Judging by some of the responces, this place needs a few guys like me.

Don't know who you are referring to as heavy hitters but rest assured it is not me. Even if I was a GB dealer I myself still wouldn't call them over this. Reason being sooner or later you are gonna have to up those prices to make a decent profit, you can't continue to sell at cost forever, just no point in it. Once you do your customers that you sold to at cost are gonna come back and decide what profit is fair for you instead of yourself. You already showed them your costs. They are going to decide what you should make verses you knowing what you got in those bars. Thats another major reason you don't show your costs. I think your intentions to get started up were great but don't give away the farm to do it. Alot of those buyers at cost are gonna take that bar and go make some money with it, you should as well. You think they are sawing firewood for free to give away or doing tree work for free with that bar you sold them at cost, no way. You get one shot to make a profit on that bar so do it.
Ah, I would rather make friends than money anyway. I could just do this on a permanent basis. Muwaa Ha ha ha ha.
LoL , Nah. Everyone knows this is just a crazy promotion. So I could just tack on $20 on the future bar sales orders, Thats still less than list. And twenty bucks is twenty bucks! And as soon as I am set with chain, I can make a nice profit on that and still appear crazy low on pricing.
I make pleanty of money on my eBay sales. I just wanted to expand my market and develop the Bar and chain division of my Empire more fully. Also, lower my overhead cost and operating capital from my distributor. And I can do it at no extra charge to my customers! God Bless America!

I am indeed jealous that I hadn't thought of expanding my empire in this way.

Well its obvious that you underestimate what I am willing to accomplish, and the quality of service I am able to attain. Some things are more valuable than price. Out of all this I seek loyal and responsible high quality individuals for freindship and repeat buying. Lead Follow or get out of the way.

Scott, sorry, I get what you are trying to do, and I don't want to seem unappreciative at all. I just cannot see how you can do this and make ANY money doing this. I know you are thinking the shipping will keep you afloat, but when you get a rush order and have to make the customer happy, you lost money. If you get three customers that need bars NOW, it will cost you.

You live in Kansas. Some of the best people in the United States live in Kansas, you know this as fact.
I really did not expect to make money on the shipping. Thall says UPS is incredibly cheaper than FED Ex. I will seek out other shipping, but I ship with DSR, and insurance. I have a Fed Ex buiseness account and already get a discount on shipping.
This promotion is an investment in the future. Assuming that I will be allowed to continue selling GB supplys. All future purchases will be further discounted.
I do not have any kind of an empire, that is exagerated "Wojo" humor. All I am trying to do is expand my regular customer base and pass on the savings.
And this discounted buy is obvious that there will be slightly extra time involved in the process. The emergency guys in need of a bar right now, should not participate in this. They unfortunately should go with my competition or make a seperate request from me. Those requests will not recieve this promotional pricing. Only those orders that are shipped in this massive buy.

Maybe someone already said this.. but.. after $15-20 shipping.... the prices aren't all that great.. a stones throw from Stihl ES.. I have no idea about Husky bars, but I assume they are similar.
