I gave up tying to baby teh splitter thrugh a session. It was down to running with just short of full choke and power was down. Delivered it to the fix-it guy yesterday.

Started today manually split/pile. Wow. I need to really get serious on working. 5.5 big green willow rounds (6 splits each) most ot them with wedge/sledge due to knots. Only two of them surrended to the Fiskars. Main problem with splitting is I have lost my "eye". Couldn't hit the same spot twice with the Fiskars.

There is no rush on the splitting, got most of the winter yet. I will keep on manually maybe even after the splitter comes back. Until the Willow is done (around a full cord sill to go.

Next up are a couple cord of Horse Chestnut rounds. That HAS to go through the splitter. I'=ve never encountered any wood so stubbor.

A guy around here will be selling his Echo 1201 soon. He decided to keep the 1200 for bucking big stuff.
Thanks, but I have to pass. Just put a very expensive target scope on my 1902 Savage 1899.Taking it to SC next month on a pig hunt. I'll be broke into April when my lawns start to pick up.

My 72 k20 was rusty for a California truck, but I'm pretty sure it would be a wet dream for someone in the midwest. The only real rust was the rockers, one small spot in the bottom cab corner, and the bottom edge of one of the doors. Not totally unexpected for a truck up here in the snow...I've seen cabs that people back east were repairing that we'd just scrap out west.

My 02 Silverado doesn't even have rockers anymore I was under it today doing brakes and probably 25% of the truck is scattered all over the state in tiny bits and pieces 😆

Purchase a bunch of 2" 4' X 8' hard insulation for the cabin at HD today.

The normal stuff they have is $50 / sheet and only R-10. The stuff I got is on sale (from $54 to $31 / sheet) and is R-13.

It is not heavy, but my trailer won't have room for much else.
I’ll have to go grab some always use it around here .

Which won't be long. On the I guess what you could call C channel frame under the cab it's not really a C anymore. Already had some patches in the back frame by the rear wheel. It's real clean for Michigan I suppose but underneath it's scary. 0411201225a.jpg

Shame it’s a nice looking truck . My BIL had a blue 98 frame went and he junked it without even asking me if I wanted it . Damn shame 350 5spd with about 125k miles I would have at least put the trans in my 85 4x4 . Engine in one of my others .

My Envoy isn’t long for this world either frame is going . It has a straight 6 4200 motor with 112k . That engine may end up in my 68 with a Tremec 5spd . Rather a 5.3

Yea if you zoom in on the rockers there isn't much there, there's less there now. I buzz bomb them flat black to hide the truth 😆 also it looks like I have a lift with a couple inches of metal missing.

Do you also call magazines “clips”?

It’s magnanimous to show intellect and respect when posting. To “lol” at common usage of terms that may be different than your own for equipment is rather daft. I’m sure we can pick some colloquial terms you use and “lol” them…

Dang I wonder how much??? Don't those go north of 2k
No

I believe Loomis is not what they used to be, since they sold out to the conglomerate. The older ones were second to none.

So I guess when Shimano bought out Loomis, they paid them an awful lot of money, and even own his signature so he can’t even sign personal checks with his name!
He had been diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer and given less than 2 years to survive when he sold G.Loomis back in the mid 90's. He's still alive, and still building/designing rod blanks for North Fork Composites.
