Mag or Plastic, their both good!!

I know you weren't asking me Ultra. But All of the Stihls seem very tough to me. Plastic is good is some ways cause it gives. I watched a good sized peice of red oak bounce of the side of my 359 near the handle cylinder cover area. Luckily, it did nothing. But I wont forget to move my saw more than 3 feet away from the splitting block next time.

I know Husky/Jred make a few saws with plastic lower crankcases...........Have not seen a Stihl with plastic crankcase yet....

What about the 290-390's? They are plastic cased with a drop-in motor.:greenchainsaw:

It just seems like some of the guys have to bash the other brand any chance they get.

LMAO!

some call it bashing, others call it enlightenment of chaps that are blinded by pure fanboism.

Sure! :givebeer: :givebeer:

Really cool to have you back here at a regular level, I enjoyed a lot of your posts before joining here!!!!!!

Thanks Niko, if you follow them over the last seven years you can see how I went from a wet behind the ears kid with a 55 Husky to an addicted know nothing. I read some of those old posts and I cant believe I even said some of that stuff lol.

That's true. But if you run a 5100s, you might not be so biased. I'm a huge Husky fan, but I've ran an 026 several times and briefly owned a 5100s. Both of those saws are extremely well made and the 026 was not slow at all like everyone makes it out to be!!!

I will commend you on your video. It's nice to see those saws in action no matter who's running them. After all of this bickering and arguing, some of us learned that:

The 5100s is probably the best bang for buck saw on the market and it's not made by Husky or Stihl. Hats of to Dolmar!!!!!

The 455 is a good saw for a reasonable price. It looked to me like it cut faster than the 346NE.
