Does anybody know if you can put a late model 260 piston and cylinder (44.7 mm) on a older 026 (44 mm)

Is it worth the trouble?

Err... Teacherman - read the question again;)

Yes.. the larger Piston and cylinder fit and vice versa...

Will it give you any material gain? nope... different porting.

Why would anything need reboring for a 0.7 mm increase?

If I remember right the 44.7 mm was just an upgrade done when the 026 was still the current model so I don't think there would be issues fitting the 44.7mm P & C.

D-UHHHH................. Thanks fer pointing that one out. Now I see, of course. I read it in a hurry, and I thought he wanted to cram a 44.7 piston in a 44mm bore. :monkey: :greenchainsaw:

No problem, I have to read these posts twice myself as to not misunderstand. I'd imagine that would take a pretty good size hammer to get that in there without changing the cylinder
