I have a 046 magnum that doesn't want to run, at least not all the time. One time I try to start it and it fires right up and runs fine. The next time it just floods right away and doesn't even try to run. And when I say flood, I mean really bad, like fuel spitting out the muffler. Anyone have any ideas??? I've never had a saw do this before. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Thorough cleaning on the inside passages, new kit that includes a new metering needle valve. Most common causes for flooding are dirt under the metering needle seat and or the metering lever is set too high, also if the metering diaphragm gets old and stiff. The only way fuel gets to the crankcase and then the piston is through the carb.

I'm not sure what carb it uses. How can I tell? Also, does anyone have a IPL for this saw?, I bought it used so I have no paperwork. It is a 046 magnum.
