066 prices

Ok I don't know how to decifer Stihl bar numbers. Here they are,

little pic that looks like it would be the gauge size, then says, 1.6

then below that, says, 04.86 404", I assume the 404" is the chain size.

then a drive link pic then 80, so I assume 80 drive links,

So 80 drive links, 404" chain, whats the gauge I guess I need to know.

As for prices, I paid $150 just for a piston kit for the 066!!!

very common in my part of the country. Seems sparatic. lots of 066 and 046's running around amish country with 404

On the starter cover its missing 2 bolts, one of which is where the chain brake handle is secured, is this a special bolt??? Or does the chain brake handle just go over the head of the bolt???

Depends on the age... two version's. One has a special rubber buffer the bolt goes though; the other a metal sleeve.

How do I find out??? Is there a serial number somewhere I can look at. I am very new to Stihl saws, so I might ask some dumb questions.

Serial number is between the dogs and the muffler on a little flat spot.
Someone here can run the number for you. I am not empowered to do that.

Old saw... had the metal version when it came out. Looks like it's been replaced with the rubber bushing - 1124 792 5505, an M5x40 screw.
