While yer all at it, anyone got a couple exter 1/2 master links laying around. Got enough chain to make 2 loops but no masterlinks...

Sorry, I only buy stuff - never sell - thanks! :) :)

PS. If you answer my query (that is, how to spinn) instead of
creating a lot of "side tracks" I will send you 1 or 2 preset/ties
for free should I find I have an oversupply of them ... . DS:

42' of 1/2" pitch "micro chisel" Oregon chain went for $388 + $13

I quit at $210 I think...

Mark

I just paid cirka usd 1000 (a tiny bit less than GBP 700) for 120 feet
incl postage and some extra supply of prestes/ties, files and (hopeful-
ly) sprocket rims ... .

I think it may be a bit of an issue of bulk chains vs chains - some pe-
ople do not have chain making equipment and are then forced to pay
for that, sort of ... .

Regarding 7/16 and 1/2 sprockets and sprocket rims:

While the latter seem to be hard to find you can find a great
variety of so called spur sprockets for 7/16 and 1/2 - but for
vintage saws obviously - how do you know if any of these can
be used on modern saws, such as e.g., big Huskys?

Seems that some of them should fit if life is not too unfair?

Apparently 7/16 and 1/2 chains are done from reels with exactly the same
equipment as more ordinary chains (0.325, 3/8 and 0.404) - just use the
A-Oregon-stuff (which is also used for 0.404 etc) ... my lack of knowledge
... .

I have found 2 new and 1 used Oregon 7 teeth 1/2 inch x SD7 sprocket
rims - but no 7/16 (although I have a Homelite fixed sprocket thing I am
sure I can make a sprocket rim of by hand with some work :) ) - should
anyone have one or a few 7/16 x SD7 sprocket rims (say 7 tooth) to sell I
will be happy to buy them ... .
