2 or 1 ring piston pros and cons?

The only time I see the second ring of any benefit is on a saw that receives no maintenance and the top ring is shot. IMHO, I'd rather go back in there and replace the single ring and/or complete piston.

That is something to consider. I've heard from a few Husky guys that Stihls tend to hold up better under harsh and uncompromising usage. (Abuse?). Not necessarily a good thing per se nor even a great test as to say which is better in general but a lot of stock is placed into so called torture tests. (Glocks and AK47s). I unfortunately am not the primary operator of the saws I service so I look at things a bit differently.
