Hey everyone, my first post, i purchased a 238se in good condition other than a slightly scorched piston and leaking crank seals thinking i would put a new 242xp top end on it like someone else had done here. After taking my squish measurements i knew i had a problem, .130 with no base gasget, both saws have a 1.18" stroke but i found out the cranks have different part numbers so i was going through old service bulletins an found a change when they i\ntroduced the 242 in 1987 which states {new part number- longer rod - stroke remains the same} My question - is this possible and will it run like this or do i have to find a 242 crank.
