346 xp died and won't restart

Yep sure looks like the clip failed you can see the top part of the piston is gone and the fragment sitting on the top of the piston Not sure. Bought it used,modded.
Hope the cylinder is ok, luckily I have a spare piston

not happy, pretty simple to see the problem.
Must just be bad luck. It was great for the 4 hours i used it.
The cylinder looks to be ok, will look closer later.

Yeah. Even your $20 cheapo unit from your locak auto zone or whatever will do the job fine.

Beleive he bought the saw with the aftermarket P&C. At least I believe its an aftermarket. Gald I used oem circlips and hope I positioned them correctly. Forgot.

If you look at the pics it is a factory Mahle cylinder. So just the piston was changed. I would try smoothing out that area if it isnt too bad so that a ring doesnt catch and get a new p+c. Others probably have more experience doing something like that though.

Yea, guess I should though what a pain. Does everyone agree that the circlip openning should be at 12 O'Clock?
