Baileys backed out of the order even though I was having it picked up. There price jumped from 580 to over 800. I guess I need to start cutting more wood with my old saw. Anyother ideas out there for a 372xpw for close to baileys old price? Not baileys fault

Wow! $800??? I hate to discourage you any more but you will also need a $45 black coil from Bailey’s before you send it to Ed.
The item number for the coil is: NLM 372
Good Luck!

I never realized how popular the 372 was, until I joined up with AS. It's mostly Stihl lovers in our area.

This will kill all you 372xp lovers: I got a practically brand new one in 2003 for $100.00. Didn't even have sawdust on it !

(If it was stolen, the bad guys had best be careful: I report all my used saw purchases to the police, just like a pawn shop would. )

When I went to by a coil they were backordered , had to wait almost a month for it.

I just spoke with DJ over at Bailey' and the web site price is the price showing on his computer. And you would still have to pick it up in person. He did say that they were running low on the 372XPW's.

expensive gas, expensive saws, expensive beer.....

WHAT is cheap over there?

Actually, nothing!

It is the price of a Socialist community.............:censored:

...and saw related items are far from the worst - don't even ask about cars.......

Niko, it sounds to me like you need to come on over for a little shopping spree. A 40' shipping container (conex), a couple of cars, some saws & related items, lots of beer....

Tax etc, and more tax on the tax would kill me anyway.........:censored:

Thanks again for all the response. I spoke baileys today and said that the cost in the computer was the same as the web but that they did not have any. When they reordered the cost was going way up. I do not think they would fib on that since there was a 385 on the same order plus chains and bars. Talked to another and they said they still had a good price on the xpw but had none in stock and were not sure if they were getting in. Funny thing, read the local Nickle (NW want ad newspaper) and found a new 372xpw w/ 24" and 2 chains for 650 not 60 miles from my house. I was going for a 28" but that will all be taken care of. One more place to check or I am picking up Sunday.

Guy says he bought the saw because he could not figure out the carb on his 440. Had the saw shop bring in the 372xpw and when he went to pick it up the guy fixed his 440 at the same time so he never ran the 372xpw. Being a FORMER Stihl guy I know how that is. If I was not so upset with my Stihl dealer I probably would never have been looking for anything else. If I am as happy with the 372 as i am being told I will..........I do own 3 dogs.....go Huskys. Saw fired 2 times, 24" bar (too short), 2 Oregon chains, 650.00. Will pick up Tues... Thanks again for all your input. I hope the last post from me on this thread is that I received the saw and sold my stihl....

Lets say it was a pleasure to deal with Scott and Steve @ The Cutting Edge, and one of my uncles live pretty close to Tom, but the last time I spoke to him, the only saw he had was a Husky 353.

His father was a logger and a "legendary" timber floater in the ol' days.......
