That 390 is just stock ? Looking at a Walkerized 372xpw an a stock 390xpw , right now. Like the difference in weight , I can handle the 390. Do I really want to carry the an work with the extra weight. Would there be much difference between an modded 372 an a stock 390 ?

Looking for a good deal. Wondering if someone can point me in the right direction for a new in the box 372XPW or 372XP. Need to get the saw shipped up to Sumas, WA.

If you are on Vancouver Island, come down to Victoria, there is a dealer here that has them in stock, well, last time I was there they had a couple.

if you want a fast saw id say my xpw is fast ,if you want a tourque saw for 32 inch bar ,may look at the new 461 ,i can lean on the 461 more than my xpw with a longer bar

Here's a question. A new, fully modded 372xpw vs a new 390xpw(stock)which one will perform the best falling/bucking ? Both using a 24" B/C cutting 14"-28" trees .

i didnt know they used bars that short on vancuver island :D

32" is usually the shortest you will see here :) Cutting them down is one thing, bucking an loading them is a whole different story. Try to stay away from the really big trees, there are definitely some very large firs an cedars around, on this rock .

Different dealer, but for a stock 372xpw they want $1040. So if the shop that does the modifying is charging the same price , then $360 to fully modify. The full wrap handle bumps the price up for a stock saw , too.

Wow! They're taking you to the cleaners on both the saw and the mods! Here, it's $875 for a 390, PHO, $40 for an unlimited coil, and $250 for the mods. That's only $1165. What do they do with their mods?

The mod pricing isn't the kicker by the looks of your pricing, it's the cost of the actual saw. That price of $875 is that for just the 390xpw power head unit , no bar an chain ?

372

Get a new 372.

You don't need a 390 with a 24" bar in our area. Lots o' extra weight that you will feel after hours of bucking. I doubt the 390 would be any quicker with such a short bar in small wood. The 372 is perfect with a 24-28" bar. Give it a muffler mod, retune, and off you go.

Now, if you just want a big, bad saw then you have come to the right place for encouragement! Get the 390 or even a 395. Heck, just get one of each:cool2:
