I've owned used and sold about all of them. 346 550 545 350 353 357 026 5100 5000 500 490 590 3.0 3.3 305 3300 4500 450 5016 etc etc etc

I just keep selling the name brands to folks that just have to have the names. I keep using these.

My new favorite right now. Thing just keeps cutting the ash like a little beast.

346 are nice. Moved my ported one down the rd in favor of the ported 490.

346 is a good saw, but everyone has certain preferences in a saw. Attend a gtg to find out what fits best.

Darn nice saws, I just can't get a feel for them over the echos/newer other models.

I like the older echos for sure. 4500 reminds me of the OE346
Nobody and I mean nobody around me I know of runs the newer echos. Wish they did so I could check them out when they come in.

Cant even sell a echo local. Have to move them highly discounted online.

I think we discussed this on another thread. There are almost zero Echo dealers around me other than Home Depots. It is tough to get a following of serious cutters when you can only get it from a box store.

Yep but I have dealers around me 2 of them. They must take them back to their dealers.

Only echo I have come in was the older 5000. Like the 4500 but 50cc. Really liked that saw. After I got done with it guy said it never cut like that since new.

Didn't Snelling do a comparison of NE to OE 261? IIRC (and I am often wrong) the NE isn't any more powerful but is a ton lighter.

Got me. What I wonder about is the handling, limbing, bucking if it would feel like a 550 or cut with the stock 550?

Heck I wonder if it could keep up with my craftsman poulan. ;)

I am always tempted to take that CS-352 home with me when I walk through the power equipment aisle at HD. Then I remind myself I don't need it and that $259 plus tax could port one of my main saws.

I still want to try one of the NE II 261 with carb. Lighter then the 550 346 etc. Wonder how they cut and handle to compare. But told they are sweet.

It still has the inboard clutch, and that will have some negative effect on the handling. If that matters to you is of course another question.

I wouldn't be surprised if the new clutch cover has some negative side-effects, particularly when noodling, but haven't seen any evidence of it yet.

There haven't been much posted by owners of the new 261 yet at all, that I have seen.
