I don't see where I said that he did it on purpose. I said people do it on purpose. I don't recall standing up for anyone. Are you a logger or Arborist by chance?

Back when My dad and uncle owned a sawmill and logging co in TN I fell trees for them and was actually shown the launch method and told never to use it. It used to be used quite a bit at least in TN. My father and Uncle would let ya go if you were ever caught doing it. AT the end of the day they would take time to check stumps, they knew... Really not a good reason for that dangerous method even if it was a "veneer" method. It can kill you and anyone else in the area. BTW..you won't see that method in the old Timber Falling book by Dent. That fella is a danger to himself and others...it's just a matter of time and his number is up.
