I don't mill much during the summer months and I look forward to Fall to make chips. This summer a pine blew down at the golf course where I work part-time. I ended up with 9 - 8ft logs and got some pretty nice lumber. The pic will show that I did this during summer.
This fall I had 3 - 8ft maple that I had the firewood cutters leave for me. Very nice maple cants and 1.5 inch boards that I will use for stair treads, in a couple of years. Here's where the kinda comes in - when moving one of the cants, I felt something pop in my back.:censored: A week later I was feeling better and was slabbing a large basswood with my new mini mill and pop again. Luckily, I have some good meds to help the pain but I am going to have to be careful for a while.
I do have some spruce and poplar ready to be milled and would like to get to it before snow flies - any day now!
Hope you enjoy the pics.
