Yep.. That's what I have too then. Black oak. I split it real small and stacked it out in the sun and wind this spring. Covered it in late fall and I've been mixing it with ash. Been burning fine although another year to season would have been nice. Gonna try to get a year ahead this winter and spring.

Bare ground, leaves still on trees, the color of green on trees. clumps of green grass - that just ain't right! Thanks for giving us hope.

Those green bushes are evergreens, no leaves on trees here.

Used mostly a 28 inch bar, on the tops I used a 20 inch. Some I cut with an MS250 with an 18 inch bar. I'm in central Arkansas. It's been cold here but no snow. it was 20 this morning. single digits early in the week. Tom, you rascal. That is red oak, even stinks like it.lol

Tom, I thought you split with Iron and Oak hydros? Do you like the Timberwolf better?

SS's splitter is better than mine, mostly all we have here is softish wood. My splitter is an ancient and poorly built homemade artifact. It does the job though, after I rebuilt it.

I have the iron&oak too but you can split a full cord and hr the tw5 is the way to go but its$ 8500.00
