I wish i had the Lombard Lightening II i had, this was the loudest saw i ever heard run. You had to sneak up on it to start it, i seen it kick back and snap the starter rope when i shut it off.

I bought it in 69, it was fast for the time

wow

When I read the topic line super wiz jumped right to mind. I opened the thread and the wiz was on the list, a no brainer. I remember running that saw in the mid 70's. I would have to bum two cigarettes, ( I didn't smoke), and jam them in my ears and grimace the pain.

Best Sounding saw

A couple years I was at Chainsaw57's shop and he had 2- Solo Twins running!!!
That was way cool!!!
Went home and told my wife about it and I just couldn't convey to unniqueness of that event. It was totally lost on her.

My homie 7-21 is the only saw I will not start, even for a second, without ear plugs. I once had it at an AG fair, and when I started it up 5 people in the horse show got bucked off. First time they ever banned someone from presenting their display. That was a fun day.

Best sounding saw I ever ran was a Mac PM 850. Best sounding saw I ever owned was my Remington PL 4 with a stack muffler.

I second this. Was reading through all these fine mentions to see if anyone had mentioned the 850. Out of all my saws and all the saws Ive ran and being a technician I have run thousands. The 850 is by far my favorite no muff mod needed!!!

My favorite one man saw sound is the Titan 30. It has a West Bend motor. Since a good many of you have never heard one : Titan30 left-handed - YouTube
Igpoe:cheers:

Yeah west bends are cool, Here is my Lancaster 318A.

Of the saws I own...The bigger Poulans, like the 4200/5200 are my favorites. But otherwise I guess the big Dolmars are up there too. Especially the ones wearing green paint. ;)

Here is my 5200 on its FIRST run.
