I knocked off a tooth on a good RSC chain cutting too close to the brush grabber. The dealer wouldn't touch it and said to throw it away and buy another one (that's not surprising). I've looked the chain over and there is nothing wrong with it other than a tooth sheered off.
You guys think it would be alright to use it as is after a touch up on the sharpener? It's practically new with a lot of cutting left in it.

I did that to a new chain also. I took it to the guy I get chain from and he replaced the link that was broke. Find a new source for your chain! lol

Send it to me, i will fix it and send it back free of charge...

If you worried tell him to take the cutter out and just replace it with a preset and tiestrap...problem solved...

this isnt a uncommon problem, but i usually see it on the .43 picco chain lol. it wont hurt anything. file it smooth, and take the raker off. problem solved :)

Did he put a new tooth on or did he replace it with a tie strap?
Yeah, i def need a new place to go for chains.

IMHO You should be fine! Just don't do it again!

I'll try not to! :msp_biggrin:

Grind the raker off and keep using it.

That was my first inclination.

well that's mighty kind of ya sir. bout the only fixin' it needs is a new cutter, otherwise i'll just grind that raker off like mdavlee said and let 'er rip.

Grind the raker off and keep using it.

I agree.

Because it didn't break the cutter down to the rivet it will be fine to keep on using however do inspect the cutter in question for other damage such as small cracks. You won't even know it's missing a cutter when you use it
