built a new firewood trailer today

My uncle gave me an old boat trailer. Put some gratting on it, got some angle & some 1/4 inch x 7 inch stripping for the sides. They are 11 inches to the top. cut about 5 foot off the front. going to make a tailgate out of a 2x12 so I can remove it. should hold a lot of wood. I have about $50 in the whole thing. Should work good in my new cutting place. Cant wait to see how much wood I can get on it.

It was an old 18 foot inboard. I cut about 6 foot off of the tongue.

Yes it still tilts. Dont know how much that will help. Went to harbor freight today and bought a tongue jack for it.

the reason i asked if it tilts is, that if you have some huge rounds you can tilt the bed and winch them on... makes it real handy.. my uncle has a small tilt trailer i have used for this before... nice..i ran into this problem a week ago with my 16' trailer, it does not tilt so i had to use ramps to get logs in...it was a pain... i will be re-fabricating the trailer for this in the near future.. very nice job ya done on it...

OK I see what you were talking about. I think it would at to much of an angle to roll anything big onto it. I have another trailer that has a fold down ramp on it. And it work great for the big rounds.

I am also going to weld a piece of 2 inch tubing on the back so I can hook my log spliter to the back when I go cutting.Like I did the trailer I can see it now truck, 2 trailers & spliter going down the road. LOL

Here is a pic of my other trailer cant haul alot on it with these small tire on it. This one is good to pull behind the 4 wheeler.
