I have a few of these growing along my driveway and am looking to thin the less decorative trees like pines and sweetgum, keeping the dogwoods, a few oaks, tulip trees. Just curious which group to put them in. Thanks!

Looks like Quercus virginiana, Live Oak, or Quercus laurifolia, Laurel oak to me. Do they ever have acorns on them?

I thought they looked like that or a willow oak. Also look like a wax myrtle. I haven't noticed any acorns yet. They are only about 4' tall now. But kind of growing more like a bush. I will clear around them and see if I can train them straight up.
